Puto is one of the local delicacies in the Philippines. It is almost always present in every special gathering because it is cheap, delicious and easy to prepare.
This time, let me share with you the delicious puto cuchinta recipe of my wife.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups water
1 teaspoon lye
grated coconut
Procedure:
1. Mix the dry ingredients.
2. Blend in water. Stir well until thoroughly mixed.
3. Add the lye.
4. Pour the mixture into the molding cups greased with oil or margarine.
5. Steam for 10-15 minutes.
6. Remove cunchinta from the molding cups.
7. Top the cuchinta with grated coconut.
8. Serve.
